COURSE DESCRIPTION
● The course has been developed with the intention of attracting students to a career in Building Surveying and ultimately professional status of Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) via
Master degree pathway.
● The course has been designed to be delivered within 16 months period with all taught modules completed
in ONE year follows by dissertation writing by students within 4 months.
● The main thrust of the course involves the identification, analysis, evaluation and the subsequent solving of
problems associated with the technological, economic and legal issues encountered in the field of Building Surveying.
ADMISSION
● Higher Diploma or Associate Degree graduates in Building Surveying; Building Construction; Architectural Studies
and other Building related programs with 3 Years working experience.
● Other qualification deemed to be accepted by the University.

FEATURES OF THE PROGRAMME
● Taught modules start from September and completes in June each year by Hong Kong staff. This will follow by Dissertation module which depends on students’ own progress, submission normally in later October. Graduation
ceremony will held in February every year.
● Classes are conducted in the afternoon session, with 2 to a maximum 3 evenings per week.
● Examination papers and assignment are set by Hong Kong Staff.
TEACHING AND LEARNING SUPPORT
● Modules are taught by Hong Kong staff with related teaching experience in Universities. They are also experienced specialists in the field of Building Surveying.
● Access to the e- library of University of Central Lancashire.
● Instructional study materials for each enrolled modules available online.
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
● Assignment, reports, seminars, presentations and written examination.
● Only 3 modules required examination.
COURSE FEE
● For the academic year 2009/10, the whole course fee is HK$64,000 which is paid by 5 installments.
