Course Description

A two years program which can be arranged by one full year taught evening follows by dissertation; the home course was accredited by Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering. Students with different qualifications can be admitted to the program and their previous study and experience will be considered in the admission of the study.

The main thrust of the course involves the identification, analysis, evaluation and subsequent solving of problems associated with the Built Environment, Building Services Systems, Facilities and Project Management, and Sustainable building issues encountered into the field of Building Services Engineering.

Teaching and Learning Support

Courses are taught by experience practitioners and specialists from the local industry and professors from local and overseas tertiary institutions.
Internet access of teaching materials from University of Central Lancashire.
Instructional study materials for each enrolled unit.
UK staff will teach on some of the modules and also the supervisor for dissertation

Entry Requirements

To be considered for entry, applicants should possess either:

Honour Degree holders in engineering or related area;
Honour Degree in Building Services Engineering; OR
Any qualification acceptable by the University

Career Opportunities

This course is aimed for students to get Chartered Engineers status in the building services industry. As competition in the industry becomes more and more serious, the master degree and professional status obtained can provide more job security, greater opportunities in senior management and career development in the future.

Professional Recognition

The programme in U.K. has obtained full accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering. It is expected that same accreditation can be achieved in the Hong Kong programme.

Course Fee

The program covers 2 years including 6 months summer break and the total fee is HK72,000. Fee can be paid by 6 instalments in two academic years with each instalment of $12,000 by covering 3 months of the course.
